Born in Modena, he undertook the studies in organ at the Conservatory of Parma, he qualified with high marks in Organ under the guidance of Prof. Alfonso Gaddi at the Conservatory of Music “L. Campiani” in Mantova. He studied liturgy (with don V. Donella) and improvisation (with L. Tamminga). At the same time, after gaining a scientific high school degree, he studied Art History at Parma University. Successively, he graduated with top marks in Musical Disciplines – Organ at the same Conservatory: in the two years of improvement it has deepened, besides organistic repertoire, the study of the harpsichord (with R. Tanesini), of history of catholic (with mons. A. Turco) and protestant’s (with N. Sfredda) liturgy, of improvisation (with S. Rattini) and of organology (with M. Fratti). He also graduated at the Conservatory of Music “G. B. Martini” in Bologna, always with top marks, in Musical Disciplines – Harpsichord discussing a thesis about the sacred repertoire in Protestant Church domestic devotion. Moreover, he followed courses of chorus and orchestra conducting. He then perfected his studies by following courses held by K. Schnorr, O. Mischiati, L. F. Tagliavini, M. Imbruno, F. Caporali.
He has played inaugural recitals of historical instruments. He plays concerts throughout Italy and abroad (Europe, Russia) as solo player, or in various ensembles. His great passion for the harmonium, led him to devote himself to the deepening of the literature for this instrument.
He is vice-president of the Organ’s Friends “J. S. Bach” Association and he cooperates with the Artistic Direction of musical shows “Harmonies between music and architecture” (then become “ArmoniosaMente”) and the “Modena Organ Festival”.
An organ art lover, since years he has been continuously caring about the old musical instruments of the territory of Modena, by promoting refurbishments and initiatives aiming at the upgrading of the organ inheritance.
Already organist of St. Domenico’s church in Modena, in January 2004 he was named main organist of St. Giovanni Bosco’s church in Bologna, where he plays the great organ “Tamburini” (5 manuals, 12.000 pipes).
He taught organ at the Diocesan Institute of Sacred Music of Modena from 2009 to 2013, and in 2010-11 also at Music School “A. Masini”, Forlì. Since 2009 he is member of the Directive Council of the Italian Association of Saint Cecily, where from 2014 he’s also director of the Organology department. In 2016 he won a competition for a music and composition teaching at middle and high school.
